Careers at VentureDive

UX Design Intern - JumpStart Internship 3.0
Karachi/Lahore, Pakistan | Internship | Student (High School)
Job Brief:
We are looking for a fresh, curious, and passionate UX Design Intern to join the VentureDive Design team. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for students or recent graduates who want to kick-start their design career by working on real products that reach millions of users worldwide. You don't need years of experience, but you need the hunger to learn, the eye to observe, and the drive to create.

As an intern, you will work alongside our mid-level and senior designers, contributing to live projects while building your skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What You'll Do
Day-to-Day Contributions
  • Support the design team in creating wireframes, user flows, and low-fidelity mockups under guidance from your team lead.
  • Assist in documenting user journeys, interaction patterns, and design specs for handover to development teams.
  • Participate in design critiques, team standups, and cross-functional meetings to gain exposure to the full product lifecycle.
  • Help maintain and organize design files in Figma, ensuring version control and naming conventions are followed.
  • Conduct basic research tasks such as competitive analysis, heuristic reviews, and usability observation notes.
  • Support the team in building and applying design system components under supervision.
Learning by Doing
  • Apply foundational visual design principles, layout, hierarchy, typography, and color in real design tasks.
  • Explore design concepts and alternatives as directed, contributing fresh perspectives and ideas to the team.
  • Get hands-on experience with Figma features, including Auto Layout, components, and basic prototyping.
  • Shadow senior designers during client reviews and stakeholder walkthroughs to understand how design decisions are communicated.

What We're Looking For
Core Skills & Knowledge
  • Basic understanding of UX principles: user-centered design, usability, and information architecture.
  • Foundational knowledge of Figma, ability to create frames, use components, and build simple prototypes.
  • Awareness of visual design concepts: grids, spacing, type scales, and color theory.
  • Curiosity about user behavior and the ability to ask the right questions.
  • Good communication skills, able to share ideas clearly in writing and conversation.

Nice to Have
  • Exposure to Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) or other design tools.
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS basics, understanding how designs get built, goes a long way.
  • Any coursework, bootcamp, or self-study in UX, HCI, Interaction Design, or Graphic Design.
  • A personal portfolio or side projects that showcase your design thinking, even student work counts.
  • Awareness of AI design tools and how they are being used in modern design workflows.

The Intern Mindset We Value
  • You are proactive, you don't wait to be told what to do, you look for ways to contribute.
  • You are open to feedback; every critique is a learning opportunity, not a personal judgment.
  • You take notes, follow up, and take ownership of the small things assigned to you.
  • You are genuinely curious about people, why they behave the way they do, and how design can make their lives easier.
  • You bring energy, positivity, and a willingness to try things you have never done before.

What You'll Gain
  • Hands-on experience working on live, real-world digital products used by millions.
  • Mentorship from experienced product designers with diverse industry backgrounds.
  • Exposure to the full design process — from discovery and research to delivery and handover.
  • A collaborative, design-forward culture that takes craft seriously.
  • An internship completion certificate and, for high performers, a pathway to a full-time role on the team.

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Design, Computer Science, Fine Arts, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • No prior professional experience required — student projects, academic work, or personal design experiments are all valid.
  • Available for a minimum 8–12 week commitment (full-time or part-time, to be agreed upon).
