Network & System Support Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Network & System Support Engineer to manage our resilient IT infrastructure, data center operations, and Fortinet-based network environment. In this role, you will oversee a multi-OS environment (Windows, macOS, Linux), enforce endpoint security standards, and ensure high system availability. If you are passionate about networking, systems administration, and growing your expertise in cybersecurity, this role offers direct ownership and high impact from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Endpoint & Device Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain multi-platform devices (macOS, iOS, Windows, Linux) via MDM solutions. Enforce security baselines, automate patch management, and ensure compliance.
• System Administration & Virtualization: Administer cross-platform OS environments and core infrastructure services. Oversee virtualization platforms to optimize performance, uptime, and security.
• Network & Wi-Fi Operations: Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise LAN/WLAN setups, including FortiGate firewalls, FortiAP access points, switches, and cabling. Manage multi-ISP links for failover and high availability.
• Data Center Operations: Oversee daily data center performance, hardware lifecycle management, capacity planning, and uptime monitoring.
• Security & Incident Response: Deploy and monitor XDR/EDR and DLP solutions. Investigate security alerts, mitigate vulnerabilities, and participate in incident response.
• Backup & Business Continuity: Execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery protocols with regular testing to ensure minimal operational downtime.
• Documentation & Optimization: Maintain system runbooks, network diagrams, and an accurate asset inventory while continuously hardening systems against emerging threats.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or a related technical field.
• Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in system administration, network support, or IT infrastructure operations.
• Platform & MDM Expertise: Direct experience managing Windows, macOS, and Linux (Ubuntu) using MDM tools (e.g., Intune, Jamf, Kandji, or Workspace ONE).
• Fortinet & Networking: Hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls, FortiAP, FortiClient VPN, enterprise switches, and core protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
• Security Stack: Practical exposure to XDR/EDR tools (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender) and DLP implementation.
• Infrastructure Knowledge: Solid understanding of data center hardware, virtualization, and backup/disaster recovery workflows.
• Compliance Awareness: Basic familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points)

• Certifications: Fortinet NSE 4 (highly preferred), CCNA, or Network+.
• Architecture: Exposure to Zero-Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA) principles.
