Careers at VentureDive

Project Manager
Karachi/Lahore, Pakistan | Full Time | Experienced
Job Brief:
We’re hiring a Project Manager who can lead complex, multi-team software delivery with the technical chops of an engineer and the product instincts of an owner. You’ll run engagements end-to-end — turning ambiguity into a plan, plans into shipped software, and shipped software into outcomes. You’ll also use AI as a first-class delivery tool: drafting specs, accelerating risk analysis, summarizing standups, parsing logs, and compressing the busywork so the team stays focused on what matters. If you’ve outgrown pure project admin and want to lead delivery the way a modern, AI-augmented PM does — this role is for you.

VentureDive Overview:
Founded in 2012 by veteran technology entrepreneurs from MIT and Stanford, VentureDive is the fastest-growing technology company in the region that develops and invests in products and solutions that simplify and improve the lives of people worldwide. We aspire to create a technology organization and an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region that is recognized as second to none in the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end delivery of one or more software engagements — scope, timeline, budget, quality, and stakeholder outcomes — across web, mobile, data, or platform engineering work.
  • Wear a product owner hat where needed: refine the backlog with the client/PO, sharpen user stories and acceptance criteria, and make day-to-day prioritization calls so the team is never blocked waiting for clarity.
  • Translate business goals into technical execution plans — milestones, dependencies, integration points, environments, and release strategy.
  • Run Agile ceremonies that actually move work forward (planning, grooming, standups, reviews, retros).
  • Communicate clearly and crisply in all modes and able to manage expectations of multiple groups of stakeholders

AI Tools & Practices
  • Project Planning & Estimation: Must be able to use AI tools for all project related activities that may include but not limited to draft project charters, WBS, and effort estimates.
  • PRDs and user stories: Must be able to define PRD and user stories based on raw requirements
  • Status Reporting & Stakeholder Communication: Leverage AI to generate status reports and synthesize meeting outcomes into actions.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management: Apply AI to maintain structured project documentation and knowledge bases.
  • Resource & Capacity Planning: Use AI-driven insights for utilization forecasting and resourcing decisions.
  • AI Governance & Responsible Use: Define guardrails for AI usage; ensure compliance with data privacy (GDPR, client NDAs) and responsible AI practices.
  • Engage extensively with the engineering team — review architectural trade-offs, understand the system design at a working level, ask the right questions about scalability, integrations, data, and tech debt, and challenge estimates when they don’t add up.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and blockers early; drive resolution with engineering, design, QA, DevOps, and the client — don’t just track them in a status report.
  • Run all modes of communications smoothly that includes but not limited to client communication with transparency — weekly status, steering committees, escalations, change requests, and post-launch reviews. No sugarcoating, no surprises.
  • Manage budgets, burn, utilization, and resourcing across the squad in partnership with engineering leads.
  • Coach junior PMs, scrum masters, and BAs; raise the bar for delivery craft across the practice at VentureDive.

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills (Must haves)
  • 7–10 years of experience managing software delivery in an IT/product environment — with at least 2–3 years in a senior or lead PM capacity.
  • Track record of delivering complex, multi-team engagements end-to-end (web, mobile, data, cloud, or platform).
  • Strong technical fluency — you can read an architecture diagram, understand cloud and CI/CD basics, and have a credible conversation with engineering leads about trade-offs. You don’t need to code, but you must understand how modern software is built and shipped.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to expedite your own work and project management activities i.e spec drafting, meeting summarization, risk analysis, status writing, knowledge base search, or similar. You can articulate where AI helps and where it doesn’t.
  • Deep, lived experience with Agile/Scrum and modern delivery practices — backlog management, estimation, capacity planning, release management, and dependency tracking across squads.
  • Comfortable carrying product owner responsibilities when the client’s PO is thin — writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, prioritizing, and making product calls in their absence.
  • Excellent stakeholder management — you can hold a steering committee, run an escalation, and reset expectations without losing trust on either side.
  • Hands-on with Jira, Confluence, and at least one of Notion, Linear, Asana, or ClickUp. Comfortable in Figma and reading product analytics dashboards.
  • Strong written and verbal  communication — your status updates, RAID logs, and decision docs are crisp, structured, and read like they were written by someone who actually thinks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering

Nice to Have
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, PSM, CSM, CSPO, or SAFe certification.
  • Prior hands-on engineering, QA, or technical architecture background — even a few years early in your career.
  • Experience delivering for fintech, healthtech, mobility, marketplaces, SaaS, or large enterprise platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD, observability tooling, and basic data/SQL.
  • Experience scaling delivery teams or rolling out delivery standards across a growing practice.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development workflows (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code, automated code review) and the ability to spot where they speed up the team versus where they introduce risk.
